Miscellaneous Pelee Posts

A few posts about the 2004 trip from here and there around the web: a thread on ssnakess.com started by Crystal; a post on Herp Journal by Dan; and an overlong post by me on our car getting defaced while we were on the island.

Jordan's Photos from 2003

Jordan with a racer I suddenly realized that I have had Jordan's photos from the 2003 trip sitting in a folder on my hard drive for the past year. So here you go. (I perpetrated the captions, so don't go blaming him for them.)

My Photos from 2004

Blanding's Turtle closeup Okay. I took too many Blue Racer photos and I'm having a hard time figuring out which ones to use. In the meantime, though, I'll put up the pictures that I know I want to use up to that point. So here's my (partial) gallery for this year: 14 photos, a mixture of herps and people misbehaving themselves. I'll complete the gallery later with photos of our encounters with Coluber and Phragmites.

My Photos from 2001

The first new thing for the site is actually something quite old: my photos from the 2001 Victoria Day weekend trip. They're not quite as good due to the limitations of the camera I had at the time. But for the moment they're the only ones available from that year's trip.

Welcome to the New Site

Welcome! As you may have noticed, this site has a slightly different name (Pelee Island Field Trips), a new focus (all our trips, not just the one in 2002), and, most importantly, a new URL: www.ontarioherpers.org/pelee. Links to the old site should be forwarded here, if I did my coding right.

We just got back from our latest trip a few days ago, so there should be some new content on its way shortly. I'll also be harassing some participants of past trips to get older material uploaded as well.

There will be a few bugs to work out still, particularly in terms of broken links in the older entries on the weblog. I'll be updating the links in due course. Bear in mind that there are some posts on the main page that are nearly two years old.
